If you don't have time to wait on a commercial rub to be shipped I would suggest equal parts coarse kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper, you won't be sorry

I would add a couple tablespoons good red chile powder, just me. And mop it once or twice an hour after the first hour.

Salt & pepper.
Never met a cow I didn't like with a little salt and pepper.

What an open question! What cut of brisket are you smoking (flat, packer, partial)? The longer a piece of meat is in the smoke (larger = longer) the more spice you will need.

Start out with salt and pepper, I use the restaurant style pepper they sell at Sams. You then can add garlic salt or powder, paprika, red pepper depending on your tastes. Sucklebusters has some great rubs as well as does Redneck cookers as well if you want to go commercial.
Good Luck on the brisket, 8)
How bout some more beans Mr.Taggert? I'd say you've had enough!
