Habanero pineapple hot sauce

Postby Texas Blues » Tue Jul 13, 2010 3:05 pm

Hey ya'll, I was rootin' around The Blues Fridge today and to my dismay discovered I'm on my last bottle. Have mercy! Rootin' around some more I came up with a enough ingredients to whip out a batch pronto. Garlic. Half a yellow onion. Fresh limes. Orange habaneros. Fresh pineapple. Grabbed some apple cider vin and went to work...

Image

Got it all whacked n' hacked and into the pot but it looked a bit anemic, so added half a red bell pepper.

Image

Smelling good simmering away but needed that somethin' else....balsamic vin and brown sugar..

Image

Got it all whirred and stirred with the boat motor and then into the bottles...

Now for a little taste. A little smoked salmon on a cracker. The perfect vehicle for hot sauce!

Image

Nice medium consistency. Plenty of wang, tang and bang and the pineapple and hab balance very well. Very tasty with food and should be good with anything from meat to fish to veggies and salad. Heat about a 7 by itself but a 5 paired with food which is perfect for my everyday consumption.

Salute'!

TB - that's nice. Got any bottles for sell/trade?

I have a Hab Sauce, but being a sweet tooth, Im always looking for fruit/sweet + heat type recipes...

PM me if you want to make a trade...
