Re: Best BBQ sauce yu ever had!
HEB has a line of signature sauces that are real good especially the Carolina style on pulled pork.

No contest...Texas RibRangers regular or spicy is the best commercially prepared sauce hands down.

Re: Best BBQ sauce yu ever had!
I must have tried a hundred different sauces and still havent found "the one". I do like the SB Chipotle sauce. I have been thinking about trying to come up with my own stuff but haven't a clue where to start. I think the type of sauce should vary depending on the type of meat its going on.

I 2nd the HEB specialty sauces. But it also depends on what meat your serving.
The HEB Texas and Kansas City are pretty good.

So what was this all about? Everybody like a good sauce at least on the side. I like my food no sauce most of the time but occassionaly likeit on the side for a little extra flavor.

I like Big Ron's BBQ Sauce
I'm headin' back down to Houston in a month to the VA. I'm gonna pic up about 3 or 4 cases of gallons.
My customers love it too, even better than mine!

Re: Best BBQ sauce yu ever had!
Kinda like that beer commercial where "the most interesting man alive" says something about not always drinking beer, but when he does he drinks.....
Well, I don't always have sauce, but when I do it has to match the meat and not rob from it. So that means there really is no 1 sauce that I would say is the best, and for brisket there should really never ever be any sauce applied.
For porkulus items I sometimes candy some parts up with Famous Dave's Apricot Bourbon. My son says it is off the hook if you apply it whilst grilling salmon. I haven't tried it on salmon because my wife and I like it EVOO, salt and pepper, straight up right off the grill, with some butter and lemon table side.
As for general fare and those who will ask for it, I start with the basic "Cattleman's Classic" and start bombing it with my own spices to drive it away from being so tangy and towards something a bit more smokey, low to med heat with just a hint of sweet. That being done I use it only for dip/dunk gnoshing and never apply it directly on the Q.
