In my spare time yesterday, I made some of Roxy's SC Mustard Sauce I noted good reviews from y'all. When I was making it, I was a little skeptical. The smell of the cider vinegar and mustard was a little repulsive. After I made it and tasted it with a finger dip, I was still not a big fan, although it wasn't all that appealing by itself. I bottled it and put it in the frig until this morning.
I put it on some pulled pork this morning and had a taste comparison against a storebought vinegar/mustard sauce. I gotta say the Roxy's definitely comes alive on pork. I like it on the meat...a lot.

Re: Roxy's SC Mustard Sauce
Bubba - I love the Roxy's Mustard sauce too - I just modified the sauce "to taste".
Try cutting the vinegar and substituting with apple cider - I also increase the amount of brown sugar "to taste".
If the cayenne makes it a little too hot for you, try cutting that as well - I know a 1/4 tsp seems like very little - but as with all good things - a little goes a long way!
I put some in my pulled pork to keep it moist, then have it on the side for dipping or putting on sandwiches.
It's certainly a crowd pleaser!

My family had the same reaction as you, but it really does make the pork liven up.

Re: Roxy's SC Mustard Sauce
The trick to selling it to the skeptics is to not let them stick their finger in it and taste it. Make them take a fair sized piece of pork and dip a little end of it in the sauce and taste it. Big difference!

Looks like baby poop, but tastes oh so good. The hardest part I've had is getting people to try it. The next hardest is trying to get them to save some for everybody else.

I've made this before as well and can say that it goes really well on pork. Not sure how many additional applications it has but I always make it for pulled pork.

Re: Roxy's SC Mustard Sauce
Im gonna have to put this on my list to try. Im guessing you reheat it the next day?
I've always noticed sauces taste way better after they have had a chance to "marinate" in the fridge for a day or two.

Roxy's SC Mustard Sauce
Kids were at granny's tonight so I got a chance to try a few recipes I've had my eye on. This was one of them.
I don't have any pulled pork so I just did the finger taste. I liked the initial taste, but I do hope it's better on pork like you guys say.
Any idea how long this stuff should last in the fridge?

Re: Roxy's SC Mustard Sauce
Nick it should last quite awhile due to all the vinegar in it just seal it in a clean a canning jar.
Never met a cow I didn't like with a little salt and pepper.
