MSG?

Postby Gator » Wed May 09, 2007 7:19 pm

I saw a local spice blend in Wally World 2day - checked the ingredients, MSG was highest on list, IE - more MSG in there than any other ingredient. I thought, WOW no way I would eat that stuff.

What about you? Does MSG scare you off?

I would rather have something without, but I don't guess a little will hurt. :dont: But, as a main ingredient I think I would pass. :D

Wow...that sounds like it be cheaper than buying straight MSG. Where you see that at? Only thing I got against MSG is it can push salty stuff over the edge into being too salty if you aint of average carefulness. You can also use too much if you got several ingredients which contains it incorporated into the individual compontents of your special elixir..chili...mop etc. You got to figger your MSG load over all the ingredients. Now healthwise obviously not bad for a person cuz how can a a billion chinamen be wrong? There is still plenty of em last I checked anyway:)

BW,

It was in the Walmart at the corner of Denton Tap and HWY 3040 in Lewisville. Its on a lunch meat/cheese counter top right inside the front door...cant recall the name, but was made somewhere in south Texas.

I do not add MSG to anything but some items I use to have MSG in it.

For chili I usually add a pack of Goya Sazon which is msg.cumin..and a little yellow food coloring. Or a little straight msg works too.

I stay far away from MSG as the stuff gives me a headache. Though some swear by the stuff so it must have some merit.
