Lockwood Inn
Anyone ever eaten there in Houston ? My dad is in love with the sauce and I'm looking for a recipe or clone of their sauce. He's told me that the Valentinas Hot sauce is close. I also used Valentinas on chicken and it was great. But use the red label not the black label..Unless you like hot !

Re: Lockwood Inn
OK, I know this post is 3 years old, but being a newbie I was going through all the old posts and ran across this.
Lockwood Inn burned down several years ago and they had no insurance.
Back in the 70's I worked the evening shift at the old American Can Company (now gone) and the Inn (right up Lockwood Drive) was where a lot of us used to go for lunch. Lot's of people went every evening, I was a Thursday regular.
They had IMHO the best BBQ I've ever eaten. Most people called their sauce "bean juice". It certainly didn't taste like conventional sauces.
