Hello Sir, Gotta ask. What’s with the winch on the side there?

Ric, i suspect it is to allow you to pull it up on a trailer if you want to move it or take it to a cookoff. Just my guess.

This is sure a puzzler. I see the cable going up and over two davit pulley wheels then maybe disappearing down into the rib box(?). I will submit a guess it is a raise/lower mechanism for the rib box grates.

Good looking heavy duty units evidently made with a lot of pride and effort. My only critique would be for that level of effort, would like to see someone take a grinder to the beads to smooth them down clean, mainly in front. Just me being a bit perfectionist. Being a finance guy, can well understand the cost/benefit and marginal utility implications of not doing so. The design looks like it would cook good.

Matt, wish you much success and a long career.

My apologies, I figured if you posted here you’d be checking back on your post. I’m not a moderator but I believe this forum is for discussion purposes. If your posting on here and “not checking often” why post at all :banghead:

Looks like you build nice rigs and your close by, when the opportunity arises I may go by and take a look.
