Attempting to carry on BondoBill's torch...

Postby ShortRibStefan » Tue Apr 16, 2019 6:14 pm

Hey fellas,

I'm BondoBill's son-in-law, Stefan. Since Bill's passing last year, we've all been missing him dearly, and that means we've also been missing his BBQ. So a few months back I took home his RecTec Bull and have been enjoying the heck out of it, using Bill's stash of pellets and SuckleBusters seasonings. I figured I would jump in on the action here, to first of all let you know that Bill's legacy (and pellet smoker) are living on through great BBQ, and also, because I still have much to learn, and figured that with how highly he spoke of the community here, I could do well to find some knowledge here amongst you all.

Anyway just thought I'd introduce myself as the newbie, attempting the enormous task of carrying on Bill's BBQ legacy!

Welcome !

Something tells me he's up there looking down at you and very proud of what you are doing
I never personally met Mr Bill but for the time that I've been on this forum, all I saw was a class act and a very nice guy that loved his entire family very much.
Like everyone says, he is truly missed !
We send our best to you and the family from the Northeast !
Looking forward to your posts, and from these pics it looks like you were right next to your FIL when he was at the helm !

You should be very proud of yourself.

+1 to all the other comments; a man is truly never gone when his family loves him and carries on in his memory. And as for his taste in cookers, I gotta say I am a to-the-death stickburner, but his RecTec was always a source of cooker envy around here, including from me (I even learned to temper my aversion to the color orange because of Bill).

Stefan,

Rambo's statement is spot on. He is sorely missed on here for sure. So a big welcome to you and it is great to have you on board. I hope all is well with the auto body business, I know he was doing some exspansion around the time of his passing.

Welcome aboard! As all have said so far, Bill was a great contributor here for sure. I myself have learned a lot from what he has shared, he is definitely missed. He would be proud to see you carry on the torch! You're a lucky fella to have had such a wonderful F-I-L. :salut:

As many here have said so perfectly, he will be missed but completely appreciate you carrying the torch. I’m down a few miles in Enumclaw so if you need anything, let me know.
