New member from lufkin Texas

Postby Mattm » Thu Feb 22, 2018 2:05 pm

Good afternoon everybody. I have noticed alot of good info on this forum already. I'm love cooking a the pit Iam located in lufkin Texas. I built my first home pit in 2011 now I am wanting one that I can move around and cook large amounts. I'm in the process of building a large trailer pit, would like to get into fundraisers and competition bbq. I had a few questions for some experienced builders? Also does this forum have an app I can download to my phone. Thank you.

I appreciate it, thank you. I'll take some pics this evening and post them on here. Have you ever done any custom builds? I was wondering if that feldons bbq calculator was accurate?

Matt, I never have but K.A.M. and others have and "are" building some good'uns. They should chime in shortly so just hang in there. :salut:

ALSO, you might want to post your "request" on this Thread.

Welcome here as well, do lufkin tape measures come from your town? If so I've sold 100s. And we like pics please.

The small one was built as a regular smoker then I converted it to a reverse flow with a water pan. Works great just not big enuff for what I want to do. I paid 75 bucks for the 250 gallon tank and got the boat trailer for free made out of 4 inch channel. I want it to have a charcoal grill, three gas burners, would box with fold out table attached to lid, sink, storage compartment and water tank, oven box mounted on top of fire box, and a steel covering over entire thing with fold out steel canopy on each side.
