Well Hello Y'all

Hey Ya'll, I thought I'd finally stop by and make an introduction. My good buddy Tx1911 introduced me to this forum a while back, but I haven't been too active in forums as of late. Although I spend most of my day at a computer, I have a CPA firm to run, a full time professor gig to address, and I'm trying to finish up a dissertation, so distractions are bad, but sometimes necessary 
My first intro to BBQ was last year when my family spent some time at Tx's place and man, some of that meat was the best I've ever had by a long shot. Matt talked me into a Traeger pellet smoker for my first smoker, and I just got it set up last week. I went w/ the Texas 34 Elite. So far I've only done some pulled pork, thanks to the store being out of whole chickens, but man it turned out great. Can't wait to keep up the smokin'. Since I live in Ca BBQ Texas style isn't a big thing here, but mine and my Wife's hearts are in Texas and we plan to get there as soon as possible. Owning a business, and owing my university some time for tuition assistance are mostly what's keeping us here for the next few years. In 2-3 years though, our plan is to sell our house, sell my business and head out to the Houston area to escape Ca cost of living and politics, and of course embrace Texas BBQ.
Anyway, I thought I'd stop by and say hi, and try to spend some time here since I'm learning this new art form. Hope ya'll are doing well and have a great weekend.
