Just a funny coincidence... but we have a living southern magnolia as our Christmas tree this year. My son picked it out after climbing the one that my parents have.

Give you a tip when you go to plant it. Dont trim it. Let the branches extend to the ground. Learnt that from the Dirt Doctor on the radio. Reason is aint no grass can live under it cuz it puts out too much dense shade. Might as well keep the bald spot covered up with tree limbs. Big welcome to Magnolia the non-tree newest member.
