4th experimental cook

Postby GTR » Mon Jul 03, 2023 6:54 pm

Going to try some experiments tomorrow.
1) bacon wrapped garlic cloves
2) bacon wrapped Queen olives (done before)
3) chicken wings brined in a carrot, jalapeño with their brine purée, salt, sugar and beer
And some cheap sausages tri-pepper and bacon wrapped.
Usual 20+ expected so plenty of typical sides.
Happy 4th to all and stay hydrated and safe! :texas:

That bacon wrapped garlic sounds interesting!
The chicken brine might be too, report back on that!

Gonna try rib roast with the 500 degree oven recipe if I don't chicken out and crank up the smoker.

Wife and I have done that before. I thought it sounded crazy but came out really good.

Bacon wrapped garlic is a crowd favorite. Cooked long enough to roast the garlic. Definitely a winner.

The wings lasted 20 minutes. Rav reviews and demand for a repeat at next gathering. Sometimes you just get lucky or really know your crowd. Either way I’ll take it.

Kinda surprised by the wings. But sometimes your the bug, and sometimes your the windshield. Have a great family, wife and life. Counting my blessings. HAPPY 4th TO ALL!
