There was an HPD officer shot in the line of duty a month or so ago. He survived and will be in a lengthy recovery. He is a friend of the guys I loan my pit to for the Galveston county cook off. So they asked if they could borrow it to do a fund raiser for the officer and his family. Of course I said yes and don’t mind helping out in these situations.
So I think they are cooking around 20 pork butts, and I think 71 briskets, not sure how much sausage.
I am not able to lend a hand as I am still offshore, but my buddy has been sending me some pictures, they started on the pork this evening.
I didn’t post the flyer as I didn’t want it to be misconstrued as a solicitation for donation. But he will keep sending me photos tomorrow and I will post a few more.

Re: Helping Out
I think they have a couple of other pits lined up as well. I know they are also doing a few cases of chickens and probably a mess of sausage. They will send me more photos tonight I am sure. The benefit is Friday.

Re: Helping Out
Not sure how those ended upside down. Maybe someone can fix that.

Re: Helping Out
My buddy said they raised a 110K. I had my buddy buy me a gun out of the live auction for me.
