Building furniture for my fire station

Postby Copasspupil » Thu Apr 15, 2021 11:11 pm

In the past, I truly enjoy designing and building furniture. I gave that up way back in 2001 when I got the mustang in my avatar. I was asked to building a kitchen table, end table and coffee table for the station since it had nothing. I finished the coffee and end table today. All three are a mix of wood and steel. The kitchen table is just waiting on the hydrants to be done at the powdercoater. Hope you enjoy them. The SCBA bottle were repurposed for legs.

I would go ahead and put those eggs in the ice box.

Here’s the kitchen table now. I still have to place a steel frame around the outside of the table. The subframe is finished and again, the wait is the hydrant bases are at the powdercoated. It’s long 10’ x 42”

Thanks for the comments on other two tables.

Thanks guys. Epoxy was a fun finish to play with. Pretty forgiving and using a torch to remove the bubbles was pretty interesting to use. Microfiber roller sleeves at the way to go to move the product around until the self leveling takes effect. I’m definitely using it again on my kitchen table. Kitchen tables finishes don’t last like they use to.

Kitchen table is finished. The hydrants were completed yesterday and everything is installed this evening.
