Re: Eating out
Nice spread. Glad to see you posting. I just turned on the news in time to catch a story about some sort of platform rescue off the shores of Louisiana. Immediately thought of you even though I was pretty sure that wasn’t like what you worked on.

That was a small Jack up Sooner. Off the coast of grand isle. I don’t work on the small rigs like that. But I feel for the families. Danger lurking everywhere out here.

Yes, they do very very well on this rig. They have a daily special for breakfast and lunch every day, along with the regular food line. You can look up the rig, it’s one of the biggest of the big.

A lot of them have some sort of outside grill. I am sure this was done in the oven. But a lot of rigs do the steaks outside on steak days.
This was on a boat I was on several weeks ago.

Re: Eating out
I was working offshore one time, piping up a rig. The fitter snuck down by the water to go fishing, during work hours. He was pulling in a huge snapper when the foreman caught him, made him throw it back, and go back to work.

Good to hear. Sounds like a bad deal. Just caught the tail end of the story

Re: Eating out
Like was said earlier glad that you are safe. I never knew that had grills on those platforms or ships for that matter.
