Steak Day

Postby GRailsback » Sat Mar 27, 2021 12:59 pm

Saturday in the Gulf of Mexico. I have been doing this for 26 years, and for 26 years Saturday and Tuesday's have been steak day. Friday is seafood day, and Sunday is fried chicken day. Always.

But allow one question: What would happen if you would get Steak on Sunday? :laughing7:

Go ahead and start building your bunker, the world would come to an end, promise. Therefore you better hope and pray it never happens. Don't ever mess with the fried chicken on Sundays, it's sacred. If you want to slip an extra steak in on another day that would be ok. Never on Sunday, ever.

I've been on one Platform in my Days and I was really impressed at the discipline and unexpected comfort that was there. :salut:

The discipline is there for sure, Comfort? Well that is relative and always open for debate. But we have come a long way out here for sure. When I started you were sometimes lucky to even be able to phone home. Now there is a generation or 2 out here that wouldn't know what to do if they couldn't text there wife from the bunk.

Everything in that plexiglas case went well with ice cold milk, or hot fresh coffee.

I always wondered what platform life was like, those pictures show one side of it, the reality may be a very different picture; being in the communication field I am somewhat surprised I never saw service on one of those, probably spent too much time on the wrong side of the state....
