Visiting the Iconic Tootsie
Hey all, I think it would be super cool if a bunch of the TXBBF family would meet up at Snow's BBQ and pay tribute to Tootsie before she's gone. We could have some great Q, meet some each other and just hang. Obviously it would have to be after this Covid BS is over. What y'all think?

Awesome idea. I’ve been wanting to go there for a long time, and it ain’t so far, I can’t make the drive up from Houston.

Re: Visiting the Iconic Tootsie
Suggest possibly November 21? Weather likely to be prime. Many Aggies headed to Mecca (College Station) that weekend for the game against Ole Miss and the annual former Cadet Reunion called Rally to the Guidons. Going to try to go see Boots Junior that weekend.
Lexington is close to College Station, and I might humbly note, Tootsie’s cooker is an emblazoned tribute to A&M. Barbecue is non-political and welcome to all, but a good opportunity to experience Aggie hospitality.
Good friend of mine spent considerable time with Tootsie at an event at and says she is the bees knees, I have never been to Snows and that is a pilgrimage I have long wanted to make.
I for one would certainly welcome the opportunity to put faces with names for a lot of my good friends here, at a time when our country could certainly be well served by rallying together and enjoying our common fellowship and gentlemanly manhood.

Re: Visiting the Iconic Tootsie
I’d love to make the trip as long as my schedule allows
20" x 40" Party Gator Pit
Custom Mobile Stick Burner
Summerset TRL 32" Built-In Grill
Weber Q2200
48" Custom Firepit
Bertello Pizza Oven
I can't always please everybody. I'm not bacon.

Re: Visiting the Iconic Tootsie
I put Nov 21 on my calendar. With luck, me and my wife won’t be isolating ourselves and the kids anymore by then, so I’d bring myself and one or both of my boys, but with her working at the hospital in the good ‘ol TMC, she sees what most non-medical folks don’t...so, there’s that.
One of the nurses I work with is a huge BBQ connoisseur. She’s driven all over Texas looking for the best Q and she’s always raving about Tootsie...says she’s a gem of a person and makes outrageously excellent Q! She’s also encouraged me several times to get my butt up there before Tootsie is no longer able to run the pit.
Anyhoo, I’m thinking it would be cool to have TexasBBQForum t-shirts, hats or pins or something, to make it easier to rally up there. Over on one of my coffee sites I participate in, we got lapel pins, and they’ve been great when meeting for get-togethers like this. I just stick one in a baseball hat and off I go.

Hopefully they will be back open by then. I’ve had Snow’s at the TM BBQ fest and it was fantastic. Miss Tootsie was awesome. I felt honored to meet her. She really is a treasure.

Will wait and see, maybe they get to a point they can do take out. Would not want her to get Covid at her age.

Nope it was a shot in the dark (aka a home game weekend!). Had heard the 14th is the day. Load up big and support the Lexington economy. Would recommend camping out the night before, you know the place will be packed for reopening.

Haha wasn’t me! I haven’t had the privilege of visiting Lexington just at the BBQ festival. Great pics!
