Anybody ever have a Philly Roasted Pork sandwich?

Postby Copasspupil » Wed Mar 04, 2020 9:12 pm

I was reading this morning about the sandwich and thought I would might trying it. Anybody ever have it? It’s a roasted pork roast that is seasoned like a 1 cup of salt, herbs and placed in a bag over night then washed. Roasted and allowed to cook first before slicing. I wonder if you can brine it overnight with an apple juice and the other ingredients and place it in a smoker. What cha think?

I went a slightly different route, but the result was so comforting. I took this recipe and modified it by adding an apple in the roasting process, injected the roast and pulled it out at 145*. I took the dripping added a little bit of a brown mustard to the drippings and blended it up for the gravy. A pot of yukon golds potatoes mashed and some skinny asparagus and my belly is full. I added some sweet green peas to my potatoes only. The other pork tip roast I made will be my lunch for the week. I need a nap but I'll show pics when I wake up.

A philly roast pork sandwich is seasoned with Italian seasoning and roasted. It’s sliced thin and dunked in the gravy and put on a hoagie roll. Usually I have mine topped with broccoli rabe, a long hot roasted pepper and crumbled sharp provolone cheese.

And you can brine overnight

Looks delicious.

I've been wanting to try the pork sandwich since Adam Richmond did his show there several years ago.
