He is a Flatcoated retriever. Their body can remind if a Setter instead of the often "bulky" golden retriever or labrador's (which are also very nice dogs). Often called the formula one breed of retrievers, because of their happy temper and agility. The breed was raised in England for bird hunting purpose. The breed is very agile, fast and clever with a great memory. They are normally waiting behind the hunter, watching where the birds fall down and they can easily remember 5-6 places before they are sent out to retrieve the birds. They love water and have "swimming skin?" Between their claws on their paws. They also have a kind of valve in their nostrils so they can pick up things under water.OldUsedParts wrote:BRRRRRRRR - - - sounds like the Polar Bear Club
Is Fonz a Setter or maybe Cross bred ?
Yeah. Had a golden retriever once too. Mother and daughter. Very nice dogs. But they where never in a hurry.OldUsedParts wrote:Thanks for that - - - I once had a Setter/Golden Retriever mix and she too was the smartest and most agile of any I had ever been blessed to be around.
Kinda figgered that Fonz was a Hunting/Water Dog/Etc
