A very Different Thanksgiving Day

Postby OldUsedParts » Sat Nov 24, 2018 8:17 am

We went to Houston to have Thanksgiving at my D.I.L. and Step-Sons and it was Unique and Exciting. The Unique Part was that, since she is Chinese, this was her "very first" time to cook Traditional Thanksgiving Food and she did a great job. Of course there were flavors and seasonings that we all do differently but all in all SHE/IT was a Success, hands down.

The Exciting part was, as soon as we arrived, my Step-Son insisted that he take me for a spin in the "Goose" that he has been restoring since it was in a flood covered in water for 2 days. It formerly belonged to a good friend of his whose health is failing and didn't want to try and restore it. OK, enuff of that and I'll be brief. First he made get in the Drivers Seat and mash the clutch - - WOW, it was so hard it felt like I was mashing the brake but this was normal for them. Secondly, after I had "Climbed" out of the car, I went around and sat in the Passengers Seat and away we went.

He knew the back roads and took me for a spin. I have NEVER experience a sensation like that, sitting 6" off the ground and accelerating like a Dragster - - WOW  8)

Here's the Data Link about the Car and a pic of it.

Not a Prob because I don't think I could have mashed the clutch in without pulling the steering wheel off :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7: My Step-son said that on a scale of one to ten as far as clutch being too hard, it was 18 outa 10

Nice celebration and lovely photos you got there. But I really like the car though.
Kinda indulged myself a bit lately because I bought a set of touren wheels and toyo tires. Ready for more road trip.
