Florence unfriendly to pigs

Postby Boots » Wed Sep 12, 2018 3:26 pm

Multiple media reports that a big adverse impact from hurricane Florence would have a major adverse impact on pork producers in North Carolina, which if I recall correctly is the biggest pork producer in the United States. While certainly biased toward a cautionary warning, multiple reports indicating that power outages and flooding could adversely impact North Carolina for several weeks or longer.

The implication being, if you want ribs and pork butts, buy em now.

Two any forum members reading this who live in the Carolinas we will keep you in our thoughts, and by all means get the heck out of the way of this thing.

My biggest worry is that the $$$$$$ will get ridiculous because of the shortage and ?sometimes? "THEY" use the "shortage?" just to hike the price :banghead:

We will be fine with pork. Iowa is the top producing state in the country, and I think Carolina may come in around number 3 or 4. Although North Carolina does have a couple of counties that rank right up there in top producing counties in the country. Now your Hatterass boat that you may have had on order could be in jepordy. But sure hope those folk come out of this deal as best they can. Living in the Houston area I can certainly understand what is heading there way.
