Schlotzkey's Super Sammies

Postby OldUsedParts » Tue Sep 11, 2018 1:22 pm

IMHO - - Schlotzkey's upholds their quality pretty good compared to other eateries in the area. I had me a craving for a good old Ruben Sammie today so I went there and snached one up. Bun was fresh and so were the innards. That Bun had to be 6" across and loaded with goodies. Funny thing happened tho, when the clerk asked if I wanted pastrami or corned beef I went blank and said "whatever the normal one is" :dont:   So I got pastrami and it was great.

Always loved me some Schlotzkey's! They just seem to be a notch above the other chain sandwich shops.

I’m a fan of the original myself. When my wife was pregnant with our second she had cravings for their hot sauce. Worked out well because I love the stuff too. I’d go in there and buy it by the bottle :)

Out here, a Reuben is corned beef on rye, pan-toasted....and I'd snap your version up in a heartbeat.

Dang, now I'm hungry.

One of my favorite types of sandwiches, looks great.
Up in the Northeast, a True Reuben is Corned Beef, Kraut, Swiss Cheese and Russian Dressing on Toasted Rye but Thousand Island Dressing is used as well.

Although far from authentic, if you want a tasty Texas twist try this for the dressing

Any yes yes, I agree that sauce looks like it is really good, maybe even on a Brat or a Ripper even ??

Ok, now the wheels are spinning I can tell it already. Ripper, Kraut and that Pepper Sauce. I'd try it if I could find it.
