It is definitely a spectacular celebration and I think, if there is any possibility for a visit, you should do that.

The sooner the better because the changes made in the last years are not reversible anymore.
Some years before the destroying policy of our dictator called Merkel, there was only a very huge celebration and nobody thought about security against terrorism.
Now there are fences everywhere, thousands of Security staffs, bollards against trucks, which could be driven into the crowd, on every entrance, every bag will be searched and also the buggy for my sweetest little lady is not alowed in the evening and not at all in the tents.
Besides from that, it´s getting more and more expensive, because all that stupid selfmade risks of security mus be payed by everyone.

So the germans are led into the deepest midage by the destructing politics of that Merkelbastard and Germoney change from an idustrialized country with prosperity to a third world country with stupidest citizens, who demonstrate for paying more instead of less.

Only 5 years before, you could visit the construction works everywhere without restrictions.
I have some fotos of that incredible nice time before our country was flooded by terrorists and criminals.
The construction works start in the beginning of august.
Nowadays first they make a huge fence all around the Theresienwiese, the place where it takes place, and then they start the works. Stupid ....

The Munich ocktobefest is definitely a bucket list item. As i am a big fan of beer drinking, and of German ancestors. There was a big article in the Houston paper when it opened up I think it was last week. On how the people line up for the opening of and the tapping of the keg. They do much of the same stuff at a place here in Texas close to our lake house. Wurst Fest in New Braunfels Texas.
