Buyer Beware - Down Sizing Scam

Postby OldUsedParts » Sun Jan 07, 2018 8:49 am

Just thought I'd share some pics of the differences between the Walmart brand and the HEB brand. Prices and tastes are basically the same BUT the quantity is ridiculously different. ?Do they think that we are that dumb and can't see this?

It's all about the COIN bud...
Take a look at the size of Fig Newton's now compared to 10 years ago, it's rediculous.

I know, Pal, but it's the way they are doing it that "insults me" - - - just go up in price and be done with it - - - don't treat me like I'm some idiot in the process of making more profit. :angryfire:

So you get more bang for your buck AND you don’t have to go to WalMart? Looks like a win to me!

There is one right across the highway from me and I have been in it once in the 14 years I have lived here. Hopefully it will be another 14. :angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire:

No worries guys, Amazon will take care of Walmart, just watch, it's coming just like when Walmart took out all of our mom and pop stores and stores that we Loved in the 70's, 80's, 90's and so on.

I hate to see anyone lose thier job, but I truly believe Walmart may be in trouble...

And.........
If Amazon ever decides to open a Brick and Mortar along with thier Fulfilment Centers that would be devestating.

There are Still ALOT of people that want to physically touch and look before they buy and that option with great prices would be interesting..

I shop everything by it's price per ounce, or price per pound.
when i go to the store for simple grocery restock i go to at least three different grocery stores, because of price
Aldi, Foodarama, Walmart grocery store
and that doesn't include a run to Sam's, or Costco
or all the way over to the big HEB+ just for tri-tips
i have sooo many prices memorized in my head - it hurts ;)

I always read labels, we use a juice sachet here to mix with water to make a nice juice, about 8 years ago I noticed the sachet said 100gms, then about a year later it started saying 95gms, then another year or so 90 gms. Now it just says makes 1 litre. I reckon it's now about 80gms. Cunning how they change from weight to how much it makes.

Frozen meatballs sometimes used to make moink balls: 20 count, down from 26.

Condensed canned soup, now down to 10 ounces.

16 ounces frozen sausage now down to 10 or 12.

Shrinking products, the same or higher prices.
