Family Reunion Day

Postby OldUsedParts » Sat Oct 28, 2017 7:44 am

Well, as I expected, I woke up at 2am and flipped and flopped until 3:45am and just got up and started a pot of Java. I also decided to run to the Community Hall and put the sign I made up. Now it's hurry up and wait with the next 4 hours but once I get the Reebz heated and in the Cooler,, IT'S PARTY TIME  :wav:

Yesterday afternoon the Wiffy and I ran over there to check things out and it appears that they are having some kind of BBQ Cookoff right across the street. I didn't have time to walk over and talk to anyone but there were about 6 nice large trailer rigs all blowing smoke. Some of them were stirring around at 6am this morning but some were sleeping in it seemed. Maybe I can walk over and chat during out gathering today. :chef: :texas:

thanks, Y'all, I just went thru phase one of the "new" learning process when I checked the Ribs after an hour at 250 and could still take the pan out of the oven with my "BARE" hands :banghead: - - - upped it to 350 and will put in cooler after another hour - - - if I have to finish warming them in the Kitchen Oven there then so be it :dont:

Too bad I wasn't closer, I'd give you our Infrared warmer/cooker.
Using thier oven won't hurt ya Emm, sometimes we gotta go with the wrenches thrown into the plan ya know...

I'm sure everyone is gonna love what you've done for them, so don't stress about the small stuff buddy :)

You'll be fine Em
One advantage of having them in a oven is you can always crank up the heat in a hurry. Once things get hot it won't take long.
You may want to call some at the hall to preheat that oven if needed.

Great Day, Great Family and Great Food - - - Win Win Win
Two things that we didn't do was take any posed group pics (all informal) and the Pickin and Grinnin didn't happen which allowed us to clean the Hall and get home before dark. Hoping that everyone had a safe trip.

One thing worth mentioning was that The Suckle Busters Hot and Spicy BBQ Sauce was a big hit. Both of my sons said it was the best Sauce they had ever tasted and I must admit that it made me forget Chipotle for one afternoon. :D As far as my Ribs goes, several there raved about them but as for me, I didn't like the taste or tenderness near as well as the normal way without refrigeration.

Here are the pics. I'll let them speak for them selves.
