Still cold and windy so fingers aren't good for carpentry but made this little bench of leftover materials.

A little sanding and staining and will be fine.Image

Looking awesome Joe.
I like the vertical slats on the bench bench it should hold up well in the weather.

We went to Norway when I was a kid, 1971. We lived in Germany for 5 years while Dad was working for Dow Chemical. Mom's Dad emigrated to Minnesota from Vatland when he was a young man, so we went to see the Motherland.

That's cool. Picture taken outside city hall downtown Oslo.

Vatland is on the west coast. Lots of people emigrated to the US. Many of them to Minnesota. Are you familiar with you Norwegian ancestors? If they are unknown I may be able to help. Ancestry is another hobby for me. If you'd like you can send me a PM with the name of your mom's dad and maybe year of birth and I can see what I can find.

Yessir, Mom had it done a few years before she passed, and she went to visit the living relatives. Their name is actually 'Vatland', I'm friends with one of my Norwegian cousins on Facebook.

Testing the available space before further construction. l will place concrete tiles under the grill and wsm to avoid fire hazard. Ample room for a workbench along the left edge. That will probably be next part.

The red Weber grill is one I got. Need some refurbishing but that's OK.Image

Happy with these weber floor protections. Protects the floor from heat and sparks.

When the floor is stained dark it will look even better IMHO.Image
