eMail Spam sent from a TBBQF account

Hi Everyone -
Recently we had someone join the TBBQF and begin sending spam emails from within the email function in the forum. I want to assure everyone that we make every attempt to shoot these losers as fast as they show themselves. In this case, the person joined and didn’t post anything for several days, then started sending out the emails. I immediately deleted this person’s account and banned them from the forum.
Please accept my apologies if you received a spam mail.
We will continue to monitor the activities of new folks. Our deputies do a really good job of spotting spammers. I installed a modification to keep most of the spammer to a minimum, but some get through anyway and we normally catch one or two new ones everyday. These people are from outside the US and sign up for the express purpose of exploiting our members. It is a very frustrating situation and if I ever make it to China – those losers at Wow Gold are in for a visit from one angry Texan!
I digress.
In the future, I am looking to add features that will limit new folks from doing this type of thing, but for now we will continue to keep a close eye on newbie activity.
Please let one of us know if you see anything out of the usual.
